Golden Globes 2012: Let the red carpet arrivals begin!

Golden Globes 2012: Let the red carpet arrivals begin!
Ricky Gervais who? No matter the buzz, we'll get to him later — because first there's the Golden Globes' show before the show Sunday, outside the Beverly Hilton, on a red carpet one young fan described as the "Ladies' Super Bowl."

At least one guy — George Clooney — was considering the score before the event even kicked off. "I predict I will not win four, so I will be a pretty big loser tonight," was the red carpet sentiment from Clooney, who is nominated for lead drama actor for “The Descendants" and screenplay and director for “Ides of March," both of which are up for best drama picture.

TV personalities warmed up the carpet in the calm
before the big-name storm (with luck, not a real storm, though the weather was balky come game time).

Eager fans had settled into the bleachers, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. On the shuttle headed to the hotel earlier in the day, the "Super Bowl" fan, a young woman from Texas, revealed she had traveled all the way simply to stargaze.

Early arrivals included a laughing Piper Perabo, Claire Danes, Juliana Margulies of "The Good Wife," director Judd Apatow, Chris Colfer of "Glee" and Kyle Richards of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."

Before big-screen names began to hit the red carpet, television hosts stole the limelight. Kelly Osbourne, Maria Menounos and Giuliana Rancic — who had a double mastectomy and reconstruction in her fight against breast cancer — all posed for early pictures.

After waving to fans in the bleachers, Osbourne made her way over to talk to InStyle about her fashion selection. She gushed that her Zac Posen gown made her feel truly famous because her stylist had to run behind her to straighten out the train on her dress. For the record: It took her 2 hours to get ready, she's wearing 6-inch heels and she didn't get stuck in traffic, as she is required to stay at the hotel during "Fashion Police" rehearsals.
